Hyperfibrinolysis Gene Panel

Tennessee rates for HCPCS 0273U

Looks for an inherited cause of hyperfibrinolysis, in which clots break down too quickly and bleeding restarts hours after an injury or procedure. Eight genes are sequenced — F13A1, F13B, FGA, FGB, FGG, SERPINA1, SERPINE1 and SERPINF2 — and a ninth, PLAU, is examined for extra or missing copies. Blood, a cheek swab, or amniotic fluid can be used.
