Atherectomy of an Abdominal Organ Artery

West Virginia rates for HCPCS 0235T

A catheter is passed to one of the arteries feeding the abdominal organs — such as the vessels supplying the stomach, intestines, liver or spleen — and the hardened or fatty material narrowing it is cut or shaved away from inside the vessel. X-ray imaging guides the work, and the imaging supervision and interpretation are part of the service. It covers one vessel, and each further vessel treated is billed separately.
