Assesses liver damage from alcohol-related liver disease without needing a biopsy. Ten measurements from a serum sample, among them ALT, AST, GGT, total bilirubin, triglycerides, haptoglobin, alpha-2-macroglobulin and apolipoprotein A-1, are combined by a formula into three separate scores: one for scarring, one for fat in the liver, and one for inflammation.
