Moderate sedation given to a young child by a doctor other than the one performing the procedure. The medication leaves the child drowsy and comfortable but still breathing on their own, while the sedating doctor's attention stays entirely on monitoring. It covers the first block of sedation time; longer sedation is billed separately.
