Sedation given to an older child, teenager, or adult by the same doctor who is performing the procedure, using medication that leaves the patient drowsy and comfortable but still able to respond and breathe on their own. A trained staff member monitors breathing, heart rate, and oxygen level throughout. It covers the first block of sedation time; longer sedation is billed separately.
