Brain Artery Ultrasound Reactivity Test

Vermont rates for HCPCS 93890

An ultrasound study of the arteries inside the head that measures how well they can widen when challenged — by breathing a carbon dioxide mixture or by a medicine that dilates vessels. A probe held against the skull tracks the speed of blood flow before and after the challenge, showing how much spare capacity the brain's circulation still has.
