Additional Artery Balloon Treatment During Heart Procedure

New Jersey rates for HCPCS 92921

During a procedure to open a narrowed or blocked artery supplying the heart, this covers treating an additional branch of the artery beyond the main one already being treated in the same session. A thin catheter with a balloon tip is guided to the narrowed spot and inflated to widen it and improve blood flow. This is done when more than one area of a coronary artery needs to be opened during the same procedure.
