Insulin Tolerance Panel for Growth Hormone

Vermont rates for HCPCS 80435

A closely supervised timed test in which insulin is given to lower blood sugar briefly, and growth hormone is measured in blood samples taken before and at set times afterwards. A healthy pituitary gland releases growth hormone when blood sugar falls, so a poor rise indicates growth hormone deficiency.
