A nuclear medicine scan covering the whole body to find where infection or inflammation is sitting. A tracer that gathers at inflamed sites is given into a vein, and a camera then sweeps from head to toe to see where it has collected. It is used when someone has fever or abnormal blood results and the source cannot be found.
