This covers a specialized nuclear medicine scan that uses a small amount of radioactive tracer and a three-dimensional imaging technique to evaluate the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. It is used to help evaluate conditions where this fluid isn't circulating or draining normally, which can cause symptoms such as difficulty walking, memory problems, or bladder issues. The 3D imaging gives more detailed information than a basic flat image of the fluid pattern.
