Three-Dimensional Breast Imaging, Both Sides

North Carolina rates for HCPCS 77062

An X-ray study in which the machine sweeps in an arc across the breast and builds a stack of thin image slices, so the radiologist can look through overlapping tissue layer by layer instead of at a single flat picture. Both breasts are imaged. It makes it easier to tell a genuine abnormality from normal tissue that happens to overlap, which matters most in dense breast tissue.
