Imaging Of The Large Vein From The Upper Body

Nationwide rates for HCPCS 75827

A series of X-ray images is taken after contrast dye is injected to visualize the superior vena cava, the large vein that carries blood from the head, arms, and upper body back to the heart. This study helps identify blockages, narrowing, or blood clots within this major vein, which can occur from conditions such as a growth pressing on the vein or a clot from a central IV line. A radiologist reviews and interprets the images and dictates a report of the findings.
