Placement Of A Medicated Insert In The Tear Duct

Maryland rates for HCPCS 68841

A small device containing medication is inserted into the tear duct opening near the inner corner of the eye, where it slowly releases medication over time, sometimes after gently widening the duct opening to allow it to fit. This offers a way to deliver medication to the eye gradually without the patient needing to use eye drops repeatedly.
