Rebuilds a full-thickness section of eyelid using a flap of lining and supporting tissue borrowed from the opposite lid of the same eye. The flap stays attached to its own blood supply at first, so the eye is closed for a period before the flap is divided at a second sitting. It is used after a lid is lost to cancer surgery or injury.
