Creation of a Drainage Tunnel Into the Kidney

Oregon rates for HCPCS 50395

This covers the creation and widening of a small tunnel through the skin and into the kidney, using a guide wire and dilating instruments, to allow a drainage tube to be placed directly into the kidney. This is done when urine cannot drain normally from the kidney, such as due to a blockage, and needs another way out. The procedure is performed using imaging guidance to safely reach the kidney.
