Surgery to repair an umbilical hernia, a bulge at the navel, in a patient aged five years or older, where the bulging tissue is stuck and cannot be pushed back in or its blood supply is being pinched off. The surgeon opens the area, frees the trapped tissue, removes any that has been damaged, and closes the gap in the abdominal wall.
