Repair of Abdominal Wall Hernia, Trapped

Vermont rates for HCPCS 49561

Open surgery to repair a hernia through the front of the abdominal wall, often at the site of an earlier surgical incision, where the bulging tissue is stuck and cannot be pushed back or its blood supply is being cut off. It is the first repair at that site. The surgeon frees and inspects the trapped tissue, removes any that is damaged, and closes the gap.
