Bile Duct Dye Injection Through The Liver

Vermont rates for HCPCS 47500

A needle is passed through the skin of the upper abdomen into the liver until it enters a bile duct, and contrast dye is then injected so the duct system shows up on X-ray pictures. It is used when the ducts cannot be reached with a scope from the intestine, most often when something is blocking bile from draining.
