Intestine Transplant From a Deceased Donor

Transplants a length of intestine recovered from a person who has died into someone whose own bowel has failed. The donor intestine is joined to the recipient's blood vessels and remaining bowel so that food can be digested and absorbed again. Lifelong medication is needed afterwards to stop the body rejecting the graft.
