Thigh Artery Plaque Removal With Stent

Treatment of a narrowed or blocked artery in the thigh or behind the knee, in which a device is passed inside the vessel to cut or shave away the fatty plaque and a metal mesh stent is then left in place to hold the channel open. Balloon widening of the same vessel is part of the service. It is done for one leg at a time, usually for pain on walking or a wound that will not heal.
