Stent To Reopen A Blocked Artery In The Pelvis

Vermont rates for HCPCS 37221

Reopens a narrowed or blocked iliac artery, the vessel carrying blood from the aorta down into the leg, by widening it with a balloon and leaving a metal mesh stent in place to hold it open. It is done through a small puncture in an artery using imaging guidance rather than by open surgery. Balloon widening of the same vessel is part of the service.
