Surgical Clot Removal From Chest Artery

Nationwide rates for HCPCS 34051

Emergency surgery to remove a blood clot blocking one of the large arteries branching off the aorta toward the arm and head. The surgeon opens the artery, extracts the clot with a small balloon catheter or by hand, and repairs the vessel so blood flow is restored. It is done urgently because tissue starved of blood is quickly damaged.
