Nerve Stimulation Through The Skin At The Ear

Missouri rates for HCPCS 0720T

Tiny electrodes are placed through the skin on and around the outer ear, where branches of cranial nerves run close to the surface, and a small battery-powered unit sends gentle electrical pulses through them. Nothing is implanted surgically: the electrodes sit just under the skin and the whole device is taken off once the course of treatment is finished. It is used as a drug-free way of damping down pain signals.
