An in-person session in which the settings of an implanted diaphragm stimulation system — a therapy that stimulates that muscle to improve the pumping of a failing heart — are tested and adjusted step by step to suit the person. The system is communicated with through the skin, changes are tried and their effect checked, and the results are written up. Nothing is implanted or taken out.
