Surgery through small cuts in the abdomen to detach and take out one or more stimulation leads from the diaphragm, part of a system that stimulates that muscle to improve the pumping of a failing heart. The leads are freed from the muscle and the tissue that has grown around them, withdrawn, and the cuts are closed.
