A wand is placed in the vagina and delivers radiofrequency energy that warms the supporting tissue around the bladder neck and the upper part of the urethra, so that it tightens and firms up over the following weeks. Cooling at the tip protects the surface of the vaginal wall while the deeper tissue is heated. It is done to reduce leaking of urine with coughing, laughing, lifting or exercise, without an incision.
