Locating The Eye's Visual Axis During Surgery

Nebraska rates for HCPCS 0514T

During eye surgery the patient looks at a fixation target so the surgeon can identify and mark the visual axis, the exact line along which the eye sees best. Aligning an implant or a treatment to that line rather than to the center of the pupil can sharpen the visual result. It is done in addition to the main operation.
