A slim telescope is passed into the nose and tissue is cleared from the sinus, such as removing polyps, taking a sample for testing, or clearing away crusting and scar, and then a small implant that slowly releases anti-inflammatory medication is placed into the ethmoid sinus between the eyes. Clearing the sinus and treating the lining are done in the same visit.
