Keyhole Removal Of A Magnetic Anti-Reflux Ring

Nationwide rates for HCPCS 0393T

Through small keyhole incisions in the abdomen, a previously fitted ring of magnetic beads is freed from around the lower end of the food pipe and taken out. The surgeon divides the thin scar tissue that has grown over it, opens the ring and lifts it clear, checking the food pipe underneath before closing. It is done when the ring causes lasting swallowing trouble, when reflux has come back despite it, or when it has worked its way into the wall of the food pipe.
