Medicated Insert Placed In The Tear Duct

Indiana rates for HCPCS 0356T

A small implant that slowly releases medication is placed into the tear drainage channel at the inner corner of the eyelid. The opening is gently widened first, and an insert already in place is taken out if there is one. Sitting in the tear duct, it delivers medicine to the surface of the eye over a period of time without the need for drops.
