Removal Of An Under-Skin Defibrillator Electrode

A surgical procedure to take out the electrode of a defibrillator that lies under the skin rather than inside the heart. An incision is made over the electrode, it is freed from the tissue that has grown around it and withdrawn, and the wound is closed. The battery-and-electronics unit is handled separately.
