Replacement of Under-Skin Defibrillator Generator

The pulse generator of an under-the-skin defibrillator system is taken out and a new one put in its place in the pocket beneath the skin, then connected to the electrode already in position. It is usually done when the battery in the unit has run down. The electrode is left where it is.
