Fusion of the disc space one level above the lowest one in the lower back, reached through a small opening near the tailbone, with hardware placed to hold the segment steady while it knits. Disc material is cleared out, bone graft is packed in, and X-ray guidance is used throughout. It is billed in addition to the main procedure.
