The implanted pulse generator or receiver of an under-the-skin pain stimulation system is revised or taken out of its pocket, and the thin electrode wires that run from it under the skin are detached, adjusted or removed during the same operation. It is done when the unit has reached the end of its life, when a wire has shifted or stopped giving relief, when the site is sore or infected, or when the system is no longer wanted.
