Anesthesia for Labor Pain During a Vaginal Birth

Wisconsin rates for HCPCS 01967

Pain relief given through the spine, as an epidural or spinal injection, to control labor pain when a vaginal birth is planned. It covers placing the catheter, the medicine given through it, and the anesthesia team's management for as long as labor lasts, including replacing the catheter if that becomes necessary. The obstetrician's care of the delivery itself is charged separately.
