Anesthesia for Burn Surgery, 4% to 9% of the Body

Delaware rates for HCPCS 01952

Anesthesia care for an operation that cuts away burned tissue, with or without placing skin grafts, over an area covering 4 to 9 percent of the body's surface. The anesthesia team keeps the patient asleep and pain-free, replaces the blood and fluid lost from the raw areas, and works hard to keep the patient warm, since large open wounds lose heat fast. The surgeon's work is charged separately.
