Anesthesia For Cardiac Catheterization

Illinois rates for HCPCS 01920

Anesthesia care during cardiac catheterization, in which thin tubes are passed through a blood vessel into the heart to measure pressures and to inject dye so the heart chambers and the arteries feeding the heart muscle show up on X-ray. The anesthesia clinician keeps the patient still and comfortable and monitors them throughout; the catheterization itself is charged separately.
