Anesthesia for Repair of a Badly Healed Upper Arm Bone

South Dakota rates for HCPCS 01744

Anesthesia care for surgery on the upper arm bone when an earlier break has failed to knit together or has healed in the wrong position. The surgeon exposes the bone, freshens or re-cuts it, and fixes it in the correct alignment. The anesthesia team keeps the patient asleep and often adds a nerve block for pain relief afterward; the surgeon's work is charged separately.
