Anesthesia care for an operation that removes the lower leg by separating it at the knee joint, leaving the thigh bone intact. The anesthesia team keeps the patient pain-free, using general anesthesia, a spinal, a nerve block, or a combination, and manages blood loss and pain into recovery. The surgeon's work is charged separately.
