Anesthesia for Infant Lower Abdominal Hernia Repair

Indiana rates for HCPCS 00834

Covers the anesthesia care for a baby having a hernia in the lower abdomen or groin repaired. An anesthesia clinician gives the anesthetic and watches breathing, heart rate, oxygen level and temperature very closely throughout, since infants tolerate much less margin than older children, then oversees recovery. The surgeon's repair of the hernia is a separate service and is billed separately.
