Anesthesia for a Liver Transplant (Recipient)

New York rates for HCPCS 00796

Anesthesia care for the operation in which a patient receives a donated liver in place of their own failed one. It is among the most demanding anesthesia services there is: the team manages heavy blood loss, clotting problems, and large swings in blood pressure as the old liver comes out and the new one is connected. The transplant surgeon's work is charged separately.
