Covers the anesthesia care given during an operation to repair a hernia in the upper abdomen. The anesthesia clinician gives the anesthetic, relaxes the abdominal wall muscles so the repair can be made without tension, and monitors breathing, heart rhythm and blood pressure throughout before overseeing recovery. The surgeon's repair of the hernia is a separate service and is billed separately.
