Anesthesia for Neck Spine Surgery, Sitting Position
Oklahoma rates for HCPCS 00604
Anesthesia care for an operation on the neck part of the spine and spinal cord carried out with the patient sitting upright rather than lying down. That position gives the surgeon a clearer, drier view, but it makes blood pressure harder to hold steady and raises the risk of air being drawn into a vein, so the anesthesia team uses extra monitoring throughout. The surgeon's work is charged separately.
