Maryland rates for HCPCS 00550

Anesthesia care for an operation that cuts away infected or dead bone and tissue from the breastbone, most often after heart surgery has left the wound infected. The anesthesia team keeps the patient asleep, supports breathing while the breastbone is open or unstable, and looks after patients who are frequently already unwell. The surgeon's work is charged separately.
