Anesthesia for a Chest Scope Exam, One Lung Deflated

Nebraska rates for HCPCS 00529

Anesthesia care for a scope examination inside the chest, either of the space between the lungs or of the chest cavity itself, done to find out what a growth, a lymph node or a collection of fluid actually is. The anesthesia team deflates the lung on the side being examined and ventilates only the other one, giving the doctor room to see and work. The doctor performing the examination charges separately.
