A CT scan of the head taken while contrast dye passes through the brain, so that blood flow within the brain tissue itself can be measured rather than just the shape of the vessels. The data is processed into maps showing how much blood reaches each area, how fast it arrives and how long it takes to pass through. It is commonly used when a stroke is suspected.
